History
Founded in 2007, www.mascotmusic.ca has been providing curated music services to soulful artists for 15 years. Mascot Music founder Scott Morin has marketed some of the biggest jazz and soulful music albums of all time, Produced 3 Juno Award winning albums, played saxophone with some of the legends of music history, and wrote grants for dozens of artists totalling well over 2 million dollars in funding in his career.
Experience
Scott is a music industry veteran who has worked with everyone from Prince to Joni Mitchell, Diana Krall, Paul Anka, Molly Johnson, Oscar Peterson, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and dozens of other legends of music. His deep experience in a 25 year music career will help you reach your goals as an artist.
Team
Scott Morin runs a boutique jazz and soulful music consulting business out of his offices in Calgary. Scott is a veteran in the music industry, having run the Verve, Impulse!, ECM, Fantasy, Telarc and Universal Jazz imprints for a decade, out of Toronto. He ran the marketing campaign for the biggest selling jazz album of all time, Diana Krall's 'The Look of Love' and his efforts as head of Universal Jazz led to a 50%+ overall market share in jazz sold in Canada for 8 years. He works as a key consultant to one of the world's largest independent jazz labels, Cellar Music Group, and has wrote successful grants for dozens of artists. Scott is also a busy professional saxophonist with his degree in Jazz Studies from Capilano University in Vancouver and graduate studies at NYU in Music Business.
